Coaching
Is coaching the right fit for where you are?
Coaching is a focused, practical partnership for figuring out what you want and how to actually get there.
Some people arrive not because life is falling apart, but because they've been running hard and getting nowhere in particular. Goals stall and weeks blur, and you want to be more grounded, more deliberate, more yourself.
That's the work of coaching: naming what matters, choosing goals worth your energy, and building the habits and mindset shifts that keep you moving.
What coaching is, and who it's for
Discovery
Getting centered and grounded in who you are and what you have to offer.
Clarity
Setting real goals, choosing action steps, and adjusting the mindset challenges that interfere with progress.
Confidence
Living everyday life with intention and purpose, instead of reacting to it.
Coaching may be a good fit if:
- You've been thinking about working with a coach for a while now.
- You want support and challenge from outside your current work, family and friend circles.
- You have specific goals that keep stalling out.
- You want to know yourself better.
- You want a clear path to living with intention and purpose.
How is coaching different from counseling?
Coaching is not therapy, not a mental-health treatment, and not billed to insurance. There is no diagnosis and no clinical record. It's private pay, and sessions may be in person in Waterloo or online.
If anxiety, depression, food and body concerns, grief or trauma are shaping your days, counseling is the right place to start, and if you're looking for space to attend to God, that's spiritual direction. Not sure? Say so when you reach out.

Common questions
How is coaching different from counseling?
Coaching is forward-looking work on goals, clarity and intention. It is not counseling, it is not treatment for mental-health concerns, and it does not involve diagnosis or insurance. If what you're carrying is affecting daily functioning, counseling is the better fit.
Is coaching covered by insurance?
No. Coaching is private pay and is not a health care service billed to insurance.
